A very Happy New Year to you all! I hope that you enjoyed a wonderful break and that you now feel refreshed, albeit possibly with a little bit more ‘insulation’ around the middle, and ready to approach 2011 with enthusiasm and expectation. Or are you?
A few years ago, when I worked in a large recruitment firm, I used to loathe January. The excitement of Christmas and the New Year was in the past and the ‘Christmas spirit’, something that seems to develop inside people in the days leading up to the day, had worn off. What compounded these feelings even more was the fact that all sales targets went back to zero. This was the killer blow that successfully dampened my mood even further.
The thought in my head was “Here comes another year of more of the same.”
We often start the year with high hopes and adventurous plans but what can happen is that ‘life get in the way’. Routines, responsibilities and habits, that have been formed over years of repetition of thought and action, can drag us back to our default position.
Would you like 2011 to be different for you? Would you like to make positive changes in your life and career that are actually sustainable? If this idea excites and intrigues you, then I invite you to click on the following link:
