Focussing without blinkers

Being focused on what you want, and more importantly the task at hand, is incredibly important. Sports commentators talk about focus during the course of a competition and in most cases a “lapse in focus” is often given as the reason for a player’s defeat.

As with all things in life, there is a balance to maintain. This is tipped when the degree of focus is so intense that all external influences are ignored. The fact is that some of these influences could actually be opportunities rather than distractions, and could open new and exciting doors for your life and your career.

It can be a balancing act that requires some skill and a degree of ‘feel’ but when we can maintain our focus whilst still being able to see beyond the blinkers we can become more aware of the world of opportunity out there.
