Yesterday, as I was spending some time thinking of topics to write about for My Minute Mentor, an email pinged into my inbox. It was a newsletter from the Jim Rohn organisation – if you haven’t heard of Jim Rohn, I recommend that you search for him on YouTube. He was an inspirational American speaker who sadly died in December last year. As I scanned his words, these lines jumped out at me and made an immediate emotional impact:
“If a father walks out of the house and he can still feel his daughter’s kiss on his face all day, he’s a powerful man. If a husband walks out of the house and he can still feel the imprint of his wife’s arms around his body, he’s invincible all day.”
Whatever is happening in your life and in your world, it is these kinds of moment that truly matter and that define us as human beings. It doesn’t matter if you are a parent or not, if you are single, if you currently feel alone in the world, the opportunity to feel and to exchange love is just outside your door. It could be a warm smile from a friend, a heartfelt thank you from a stranger, a warm handshake from a client. Let’s get out there and seek it and then allow it to seek us.
