How many of you began the year with New Year’s resolutions? If you did, how did you get on?
It’s great to start the year with a fresh approach and with new ideas for achieving your goals for 2010. myminutementor is here to maintain your momentum and to provide you with guidance when you feel you need it.
Here’s an exercise which is great for maintaining focus.
Find some quiet time, away from the usual distractions (this could be your favourite room in the house or somewhere outside where you feel completely relaxed), and I want you to imagine that it is 31st December 2010. You are speaking with your best friend about all of the things that you achieved during the year and the goals you have accomplished. Really get into the moment and feel the excitement and emotion as you relive these great memories.
Once you have soaked up this energy for at least 10minutes, take a pen and paper and write down what these goals and achievements were that you were discussing and why they would mean so much to you to accomplish.
Once you have done that, create a copy of that list – pin one somewhere where you can see it as soon as you get up in the morning and carry the other one in your pocket.
As soon as you have done this, make a commitment to yourself to read your goals list at least twice every day – once as soon as you get up and then last thing at night.
Who’s going to post a comment on 31st December 2010 with their successes…?
Perhaps start the postings every month of your commitment? myminutementor would love to hear how you are getting on.
A journey is always more enjoyable with company. So, if your rucksack is comfortably on your back, let’s lean into the breeze and start with the first step into the future…
